Phillip Thornton, age 81, passed away on October 22nd, 2026. He was born on March 30th, 1945, to Samuel Lester Thornton and Vesta Ella Romine Thornton.
Phillip is survived by his daughter, Pam Johnson (Joey); son, Tim Thornton; granddaughter, Ashlyn Thornton; and brother, Lester Lee Thornton.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janice Marie Thornton; his parents, Samuel Lester Thornton and Vesta Ella Romine Thornton; and his sister, Joyce Ann Buchanan.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 28th, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Graveside service at Limestone Memorial Gardens will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Greg McAllister officiating.
Pallbearers will be Gary McMeans, Sam McMeans, Joey Johnson, Jason Batts, Joey Tiddle, and Jason Gilbert.
Phillip will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends and will be deeply missed.
