Sam Lewis Beddingfield, age 78, of Fayetteville, TN, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2026, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN. Born in the Coldwater community of Lincoln County, TN, Sam was the son of the late James Clarence Beddingfield and Mary Adaline Cowan Beddingfield. He retired as a supervisor from the State of Tennessee Highway Department, taking great pride in his work and building a career defined by dedication and a strong work ethic. A devout Christian with a heart of gold, Sam was a member of the Washington Street Church of Christ, where he deeply cherished his church family.

Known for his quick wit and love of good one-liners, Sam brought laughter and warmth everywhere he went. He was an avid Tennessee Volunteers football fan and a compassionate protector of animals, never missing a chance to rescue any creature in need. Above all, Sam adored his wife, Anne. He loved her with all his heart throughout their 35 years of marriage, and the two were truly inseparable.

Sam is survived by his loving wife, Anne Flynn Beddingfield; his children, Jerry (Narlenne) Beddingfield, Cathy (Mike) Hearn, and Amy (Chad Carter) Renfro; his grandchildren, Richard (Jenipher) Carpenter, Ali (Travis) Rush, Annia (Cameron) Watkins, Nikky Proske, Sammy Beddingfield, Alex Renfro, Austin Carter, Logan Carter, Aiden Carter, and Jakson Carter; and his great-grandchildren, Samantha Watkins, William Cameron Watkins, and Oakley Beddingfield. In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his siblings.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2026, at Kirkland Cemetery with Mark Clark officiating. There will be no visitation with the family prior to the service.
