Chris Lynn Walker passed away peacefully on October 6, 2026 while surrounded by his loved ones in his home in Beech Bluff, TN.
Chris was born on October 25, 1958, in Jackson, Tennessee. He was raised in Bemis and attended South Side High School. Chris was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church.
Chris took great pride in his work as the owner and operator of Chris Walker Dozer Service for more than 30 years. He was exceptionally talented at his craft and became known by many as the “Michelangelo of dirt work.” He worked hard, took pride in doing things the right way, and built a reputation that spoke not only to his skill, but to the kind of man he was.
Outside of work, Chris knew how to enjoy life. He loved riding his Harley with family and friends and spending time at the Tennessee River, especially water skiing. He also loved making sweet treats. Chris could bake a cherry cobbler completely from scratch and was always making something sweet, whether it was chocolate-covered strawberries and bananas, or one of his famously over-the-top bowls of ice cream that became an almost nightly tradition.
More than anything, Chris will be remembered for the way he treated people. He truly never met a stranger. He had a way of making people feel welcome and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. He was incredibly kind and generous, the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. He led with kindness whenever he could and was always willing to lend a hand.
Nothing meant more to Chris than his family. He cherished the time he spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren and found so much joy in simply being together. His warmth, generosity, humor, and love for the people around him are what made Chris who he was, and they are what his family and friends will carry with them and remember most.
Chris is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Darcie Walker. Chris was the proud father of Tiffany Walker, Jacob Walker (Katherine), and Devan Walker. Chris was blessed with four grandchildren, Alexis Sumler (Joseph), Emersyn Walker, Charlotte Walker, and Annabelle Walker; great grandson, Stelth Sumler; sisters, Patricia Lander sand Jennifer Bullock as well as his special sister, Teresa Walker, whom he loved dearly. Chris is preceded in death by his parents Chris Wayne Walker and Barbara Bratcher.
A funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2026, at Concordia Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The burial will follow the service at Highland Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Concordia Conservatory for the strings and instrument program.
The family would like to thank you for your visits, calls/messages, and your prayers during this time. As you remember Chris, we pray that you will be comforted with many memories of laughter and love and blessed with peace from our Heavenly Father.
