Photo of Bobby Baker Bobby Jack Baker, age 85 of Phil Campbell, Alabama, passed away Monday, October 5, 2026 at the North Alabama Medical Center in Florence Alabama. He was born August 9, 1941 to Rufus and Eula Baker. Bobby was a family man, who cherished those near him dearly. He spent his time before retirement working at Formed Tubes in Haleyville, Alabama. Afterward, logging occupied his time, which he also greatly enjoyed. Bobby was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. His favorite place to spend time was up in the Smokey Mountains. Bobby loved nature, animals, and most importantly, his granddaughters. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon, until 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 8, at Akins Funeral Home in Russellville, Alabama. The funeral service will take place thereafter at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Blue Springs Cemetery in Phil Campbell, Alabama. Pastor Carolyn Baker will officiate. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Faye Baker; daughter, Theresa Gasaway; son, Greg Baker; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Baker; granddaughters, Danielle Gasaway, Shannon Gasaway-Santiago; grandson, Liam Baker; great-granddaughter, Kylee Santiago; and a host of nieces and nephews. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Eula Baker; brother, J.C. Baker; and sisters, Janet James, and Betty Mcalister. The family would like to extend special thank you to the staff of North Alabama Medical Center and all family and friends who supported them during Bobby’s illness and his passing.
