Eddie Ruth McWhorter Profile Photo Eddie Ruth McWhorter, 90, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2026, at her home in the Troy community in Pontotoc County, MS. Born to Edward and Fannie Hester on September 24, 1936, she was an excellent seamstress and worked in a sewing factory most of her working years and later worked part-time at Moog Automotive inspecting parts. She was a member of Troy Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for numerous years. She attended faithfully until her health declined. She never met a stranger, and she loved the Lord. She kept her faith through all of the losses in her life. After the passing of her first husband, Alfred McGloflin, in 1986, she married Fred McWhorter in 1996, and they were the talk of Troy.

Survivors include her grandson, Josh McGloflin and wife, Lisa; daughter-in-law and caregiver, Susan McGloflin (Randy); great-grandchildren, Vivi, Annie, and John Michael McGloflin; extended family, Martin Zepeda and wife and caregiver, Becky; children, Joseph Zepeda (Melissa) and Meagan Hillhouse (Warren); and several nieces and nephews.

Those preceding her in death are her parents; three sons, Mike, Mark, and Doug McGloflin; first husband, Alfred McGloflin; second husband, Fred McWhorter, two brothers, Lloyd and Audrey “Pete” Hester, and her sister, Grace Morris.

Funeral Service will be held at 2PM Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Earl Barron officiating. Visitation will begin at 12PM and continue to service time. Burial will follow in Edington Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc is handling the arrangements.

Pallbearers are Ray Hester, Shad Hester, Scott Hester, Martin Zepeda, Joseph Zepeda, and Josh Copeland.
