Lynn Price Ashby of Madison AL, formerly of Scottsboro, passed away Sunday 27 September 2026. She was 79 years old.
Originally a dental hygienist in Scottsboro, she returned to school and earned a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from UAH. She then spent most of her engineering career with Boeing in support of the Space Program where she greatly enjoyed working with many astronauts and her brilliant colleagues.
Lynn is survived by her husband of 39 years, Artie Ashby Jr.; her daughter Terri Burant (Keith); daughter-in-law, Jerianne Trammell; stepdaughters, Susan and Chris Ashby; grandchildren, Trey Trammell (Mimi), Kayleigh Trammell, Shelby and Preston Burant, Rachel Hamilton-Trowe (Mike), and Gwen Hamilton; and four beautiful great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn are her sisters-in-law, Kitty Preston, Judy Ann Tusing (Robert); and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Lynn was preceded in death by her son, Don Trammell Jr., her mother, Ruth Price, her father, John Price, her cousin, Marilyn Mayhue, mother-in-law, Mary F. Campbell, father-in-law, Artie Ashby Sr., and brothers-in-law, Jerry Ashby and Warren Preston.
A Celebration of Life will be held 6 p.m. Friday 9th October at Christ Presbyterian Church Monrovia (1580 Jeff Rd NW, at intersection with Douglass Rd). Feel free to jot down a story to add to a “basket of memories” for the family.
