On September 29, 2026, Wade Edward Wilkinson passed away peacefully. Wade was born on July 13, 1958, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Sarahann Seymour and Edward Wilkinson. He was raised in Tuscaloosa and Huntsville. From 1976 to 1981 he served in the U.S. Navy, returning to Huntsville for a career in engineering. For the last three decades, Wade was employed by the software development company Renegade Internet, which he co-founded.
Wade was preceded in death by his mother. He is survived by daughter, Erin Ainsworth (Avery) of Auburn, Alabama; three grandchildren; his father, Edward of Cherokee Ridge, Alabama; brother, Clay Wilkinson (Lisa) of New Hope, Alabama; sister, Ladye Wilkinson (Jim Christman) of San Jose, California; and several nieces.
A private memorial will take place at a later date and Wade will be buried at sea by the U.S. Navy.
The family invites those who wish to honor Wade’s memory to consider a donation to North Alabama Food Bank or Downtown Rescue Mission.
