Doris Tanner Barnes, 97, passed away at her home on Feriday, October 2, 2026. She was a beloved wife, mother, aunt, cousin and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.Doris is preceded in death by her much loved and long-missed husband, Jack Edward Barnes; also, her parents, Homer J. Tanner and Ethel Wood Tanner; and her sons, Jackie (Carol) Barnes, Danny Barnes, and Larry Barnes; her brothers Hubert Tanner and Homer J. Tanner Jr; her sisters Lori Williams and Ogie Henderson. She is also preceded by many other relatives who she has now reunited with.
Doris is survived by a few remaining nieces and nephews who loved her very much.
Doris was a loving wife and mother; she traveled with her husband in the service, and she lived in various countries and several states. She enjoyed reading her Bible and had a strong love for music.
