Jeannie Cordelia Miller, age 54, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, surrounded by her loving family.

Jeannie was born on June 23, 1972, in Manchester, Tennessee, to the late Richard H. Gipson and Imogene Davis Gipson. She dedicated her life to education, serving students and her community for 30 years. During her career, she served as principal of Franklin County High School for two years before becoming ill. Jeannie was passionate about education and made a lasting impact on countless students, teachers, and colleagues throughout her career.

Jeannie was a longtime member of Greenhaw Baptist Church, where she was saved and baptized at the age of 13. Her church remained an important part of her life, and she was a faithful member for approximately 40 years.

Above all else, Jeannie loved her family. She also enjoyed traveling, especially taking cruises, and loved spending time reading. Jeannie was outgoing, funny, clever, and often the life of the party. She never met a stranger and treated every person she encountered with the same kindness and respect, regardless of their circumstances or position in life.

Jeannie was exceptionally intelligent and was admired by those who knew and worked alongside her for her knowledge, quick wit, wisdom, and many looked to her as a mentor. She will be remembered not only for her intelligence and accomplishments, but also for the laughter she brought into a room, her ability to connect with people from all walks of life, and the tremendous love she had for her family and friends.

Jeannie was preceded in death by her mother, Imogene Davis Gipson, and father, Richard H. Gipson; aunt, Ernestine Gipson; uncle, John Allen Davis.

She is survived by her brother, Richard A. (Tina) Gipson; nephews, Calen Gipson, Sam Gipson, and Luke (Josie) Owens; niece, Grace Owens; great-nephew, Bodie Allen Owens; double first cousins, Melissa Gipson and Sherri (Jeff) Owens; aunts, Linda Acree and Bobbi Wheat; uncles, Larry (Karen) Davis and John W.
