Belford Joe Hammock Belford “Joe” Hammock, 85, of Vina, Alabama, completed his wonderful journey here on Earth on September 30, 2026, surrounded by all his loved ones.

Joe leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Janet Hammock; his children, David Hammock, Tula Hammock, Melinda (Scotty) Shaffer, Timothy Hammock, and bonus son Carlton Lofton.

He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Michelle Peoples, Ethan Hammock, Austin (Lynn) Nichols, Tyler Hammock, Dillon Massey, Vallen Gardner, Gabriella (Logan) McLin, Jacob Peoples, Ava Hammock, Erica McCarley, Clint McCarley, Joe Hammock, Sarah (Novalee) Johnson, Hannah Johnson, Leah Dabbs, Chelsea Shaffer, Gabe Shaffer, and Jennifer Hammock, along with 15 great-grandchildren.

Joe spent most of his working years owning and operating Hammock Tree Service. He also worked as a truck driver and in the mobile home manufacturing industry. He will always be remembered for his cheerful, loving spirit and the kindness he shared with everyone he met.

Joe enjoyed family gatherings, spending time with his children, traveling, his beloved dog Coco, and most of all, his grandchildren. Family meant everything to him, and the memories he created with those he loved will be treasured forever.

Joe was born in Vina, Alabama, on May 30, 1941, to Harvey Hammock and Lula Nichols.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Hammock and Lula Nichols; his son, Joey Hammock; his brothers, Paul Jack Hammock, Delmer Nichols, and John E. Nichols; and his sister, Elva Jones.
Although Joe will be deeply missed, he will forever be remembered for the strength he showed during his final days surrounded by his family, his fun-loving personality, his kindness, and the unconditional love he had for his family and friends.

His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in his memory.
