Elton Bruton, 93, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Mingo, MS to Whit Bruton and Maxine Gray Bruton. Elton proudly served in the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of 2nd Street Church of Christ and he also owned and operated EB’s BBQ for many years.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS with John Williams officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 29, 2026, from 10:30–11:30 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by two daughters, Rajama Johnson and Suzan Mills (Wesley); one granddaughter, Mallory Cleveland (Brad); one grandson, Izaac Johnson (Jessica); and six great-grandchildren, Braxton Cleveland, Makenley Cleveland, Baker Cleveland, Brady Madden Cleveland, Ezra Johnson and Owen Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Bruton; son-in-law, Randy Johnson; his parents; and three siblings, Harold Bruton, Betty Henry and Ruby Ezzell.
