Tony G. Lambert, 70, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Booneville, MS, to Alvin Gene and Genenda Merrill Lambert. He was raised attending New Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time outdoors. For many years, he was a member of the Rock Creek Hunting Club. He faithfully served as a full-time pastor at several churches throughout Northeast Mississippi until his health no longer allowed him to continue his ministry. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 2 p.m. at New Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church, Tishomingo, MS with Bro. Jerry George officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 12–2 p.m. at New Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will be in New Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Pruitt Lambert; one son, Brenton Gene Lambert; one daughter, Erin Brook Lambert Brooks (Rodney); four grandchildren, Adrienne Hayes (John), Lauren Lambert, Cody Vick (Jaycee) and Brady Vick (Kailey Holcomb); and two great-grandchildren, Callen Vick and Braxton Moore.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Cody Vick, Rodney Brooks, Jerry Blaylock, Chris Wright, Bobby Johnson, Ben Cain and Jordan Cain.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brady Vick, Darrell Holloway and members of the Rock Creek Hunting Club.
