Benjamin Waden Hinkle, 83, of Athens, Alabama, passed away on September 24th, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on January 6, 1943, in Athens, Alabama, to Samuel and Neva (Moody) Hinkle.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hinkle; daughter, Pam Hinkle Perry (Roy); grandchildren, Kevin Borman (Brooke), Jacob Borman, Savanna Oberlies, Trey Worley (Andrea), and McKenzie Worley; great-grandchildren, Alannah, Greyson, Camille, Zachary, Zaylen, and Dean; sister, Ruby Hall; and brothers, Dwight Hinkle and James Hinkle.
He is preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Neva Hinkle; daughter, Alesia Worley; and several brothers.
Mr. Hinkle was a member of the VFW, American Foreign Legion, Limestone Cattlemen Association, and Alabama Farmer’s CO-OP. He loved his family and his church family, and he loved helping and teaching others. He had a huge heart and was a member of Madison Church of Christ.
The funeral service for Mr. Hinkle will be Monday, September 28th, 2026, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, at 1:00 p.m., with Jimmy Hinkle and Jim Hinkle officiating. Visitation will be Monday, from 10:30 to 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial at Limestone Memorial Gardens.
