Regina Moss Woolley, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to many, passed away peacefully in her sleep from natural causes on September 24, 2026. Born on December 23, 1953, in Sheffield, Alabama, Regina lived a life full of love and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she met.
Regina was the cherished daughter of Max and Geneva Moss, who preceded her in death, along with her grandmother, Hallie Warren Richardson, brother, Buddy Moss, Aunt Virginia Moore, and her dear Aunt Deborah George. She is survived by her sisters, Lisa Moss Dickerson and Karen Moss Lopez; her devoted children: Matthew Smith, Timothy Smith, Allison Smith, and Bailey Smith. Stepdaughter Darlene Lovelace and stepson Blake Woolley. Her legacy continues through her five treasured grandchildren: Timothy Chapman (and Terry), Angel Cuevas, Jacob Smith (and Brylee), Ashley Smith, and Lukas Smith. Additionally, her joy and spirit live on in her ten great-grandchildren: Konner, Kyler, Kash, Maddox, Sawyer, Sophia, Keegan, Hazlee, Cinnamyn, and Rosalie.
Regina’s life was a testament to the power of kindness and hospitality. She possessed an unmatched ability to make anyone feel welcome, creating a sense of warmth and belonging wherever she went. Her family was her greatest joy, and she dedicated herself to caring for them and her beloved dogs. Regina found immense happiness in playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her home was a safe harbor for many who sought her guidance and love.
To honor her memory, a service will be held on September 29, 2026, at 2:30 PM at Friendship Community Church, located on Atlanta Ave in Sheffield, Alabama. Regina’s family invites all who knew her to join in celebrating her life and the love she shared so freely.
The family shares a special message to all whom Regina took under her wings: “There are too many to name, but she loved you all.” Matthew 11:28, a verse that offered her solace and strength: “Come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
