Funeral service for David Wayne Hopper, 74, will be Monday, September 28, 2026 at 7:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Geoff Halbrooks officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Monday, September 28, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Hopper passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at Red Bay Nursing & Rehab. He was born August 14, 1952, in Morgan County to William Erskin “Turk” Hopper and Vergie Dorothy “Dautie” Davis Hopper .
David was employed by Walmart, as a Truck Driver, prior to his retirement. He enjoyed basketball, hunting, and country music. He also loved farming and being on his tractor.
Preceding him in death were his wife: Michelle Hopper, his parents, brothers: William Harold Hopper, and Marvin Franklin Hopper, and sister: Elizabeth Ann Blankenship.
Survivors include:
Son – Zachary Taylor Hopper,
Daughter – Alexandra Nicole Hopper,
Brothers – James Paul Hopper and
Mark Anthony Hopper,
Sisters – Carolyn Sue Watts,
Martha Gail Reeves,
Janice Faye Hagood (Franky), and
Annette Bost (Terry),
and Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
