Freda Ann Cleek, 88, of Middleton, passed from this life Thursday, September 24, 2026, at her home. Services will be held at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Bolivar on Monday, September 28 beginning at 1:00pm with visitation beginning at 10:30am. Dennis Cleek and James McKinney will be officiating. Burial will take place at Pleasant Springs Methodist Church Cemetery in Pinson immediately following the service.
Mrs. Cleek was born on Thursday, June 23 to the late James Loyce Vandiver and Beulah Hysmith Vandiver. She was a Tennessee native and lived in both Chester and Hardeman Counties for the majority of her life. She married the love of her life, Jerry D. Cleek on June 25, 1955 in Corinth, Mississippi. She held many jobs through the years such as doing factory work and being the secretary for Cleek Pest Control, but her favorite role that she ever had was that of a homemaker. She enjoyed time spent canning, cooking and doing her garden each year. She also enjoyed the time spent with her family and her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crappy fishing and spending time with her church family.
She was a member of the Church of God in Pinson.
Mrs. Cleek is survived by her husband of 71 years, Jerry D. Cleek; daughters Darlene Mott (David), and Cathy Stranz; son, Dennis Cleek; sisters, Wanda Faye Breece (Joe), Brenda Guinn (Jerry), Karen Ross, Judy Foster, Marilyn Rowin (Arnold); ad a brother, Mike Vandiver (Debbie). She is also survived by the 16 forest kids that she had taken in and raised. She considered them as her own. They all called her Mama.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Vaughn.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Pinson Church of God.
