David (Davy) Garner, 50, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026. He was born on March 24, 1976, in Morgan County, to Ronald David Garner, Sr. and Kathy Dian Motes Garner.
David was a General Contractor for Superior Carpets and took pride in his work. He called himself a jack of all trades as he was capable of building and fixing almost anything. He enjoyed many of life’s simple pleasures, including riding motorcycles, fishing, cars, and was a huge fan of Alabama football. Above all else, David cherished his family. He was incredibly proud of his children and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and making memories with them.
David will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for the things he enjoyed, and the memories he created with those around him. His greatest joy was the time he spent with the people he loved, especially his grandchildren. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
David was preceded in death by his father, Ronald David Garner, Sr., and his grandparents, Wilburn “Red” and Ola Mae Motes, and Dallas and Dot Garner.
He leaves behind his wife, Shelia Garner; his daughter, Lindsay McCalea Chombo (Edward), and his sons, McKenzie Gage Garner (Kayla) and Colbie Kain Garner (Courtney); He is also survived by his mother, Kathy Dian Motes Garner, and his sister, Amanda Leah Garner. David was a proud grandfather to Hallie, Oliver, AnnaLynn, Eliana, Christopher, Emilia, and Elijah, who brought tremendous joy to his life. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Colton, Rayna, Benson, and Ashlyn along with many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
