Terry Joe Elton, 72, of Searcy, Arkansas, passed from this life on September 20, 2026.
Terry was born on January 9, 1954, to Robert and Charlene Elton. He was a hardworking man who believed in putting in an honest day’s work and providing for the people he loved.
Terry especially loved driving an 18-wheeler – preferably a Peterbilt – and spending his days out on the open road. Truck driving was more than just a job to Terry; it was a part of who he was. Over the years, he traveled countless miles, building a lifetime of stories and memories along the way.
Above all else, Terry loved his family. He is survived by his children, Timmy Elton (Sherry) of Cabot, Arkansas; Kerri Horn (Jason) of Princeton, Louisiana; Miranda Welch (Jeremy) of Conway, Arkansas; and Ricky Elton of Ripley, Mississippi. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Jude, Tylar, Jared, Carson, Conner, Journi, and Truett; his great-grandson, Henry Lane; his brother Dwight Elton of Sarepta LA; the mother of his children, Janie Elton; and friend Myrsheria McBride.
His family will forever cherish the memories they shared with him, the stories he told, and the lessons he passed down through the life he lived.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Charlene Elton; his sister, Fran Gaddy; and his brother, Ricky Lee Elton.
Terry will be remembered as a hardworking man who traveled many miles throughout his life and left lasting memories in the hearts of those who loved him. May the road ahead be peaceful, the skies be clear, and his final journey home be a beautiful one.
A memorial service celebrating Terry’s life will be announced at a later date.
