Robert William Garner, age 56, of Arab, Alabama (formerly Huntsville, Alabama) reached his Heavenly reward September 23, 2026. He was born March 16, 1970 in Huntsville, Alabama to Jim and Carol Garner; with two sisters (Lori and Melissa) anxiously looking forward to having a baby brother.
Robert graduated from Huntsville High School; and worked in several different occupations before finding his niche in “behind the scenes” customer service. His time working was unfortunately cut short when he was diagnosed with Cancer. He fought a hard and valiant fight; he is now whole again with His Lord and Savior.
Robert loved Alabama football and took great pride in his sports knowledge.
Robert is survived by his parents, his sister Melissa (Chris) Black, his nieces Jessica (Heath) Oden and Jennifer (Kyle) Bennefield, his great-nieces Lexi and Ellie Oden, his brother-in-law Tommy McAuliffe; and his son William Prescott Garner. Along with many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hector and Ada Finger, Jess and Janie Garner; his sister Lori Garner McAuliffe, his Uncle and Aunt, Harlan and Nancy Garner, his uncle David Finger, and many other family members.
The family has chosen cremation and there will be no formal service. The family request that any memorials/donations be sent to Clearview Cancer Institute (CCI) Russel Hill Cancer Foundation ( https://www.clearviewcancer.com/donate ). This organization was a true help to Robert and the family during his treatment.
