Johnny Lee Dempsey, 73, of Anniston Alabama, passed away Saturday September 5th, 2026, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston surrounded by his family.
Johnny was born October 14th, 1953 in Anniston Alabama to Margaret Ann Dempsey and Frank Dempsey.
He is survived by his wife Donna Goray-Dempsey, daughter Dana Dempsey Knight (Vin) sons Christopher Dempsey and Michael Dempsey. Brothers Rufus Dempsey (Liz), Phillip Dempsey (Malinda), sisters Kathy Parris, Becky Griffin (Billy) grandchildren Cody Smith, Dustin Smith, Jesse Knight, Era Dempsey, 6 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews who loved him very much.
He is preceded in death by his parents Margaret Ann Dempsey and Frank Dempsey, along with both sets of grandparents.
Johnny was employed at Fort McClellan in the small arms department for 13 years, at which time it closed. After he went to work at the Anniston Army Depot in small arms until his retirement in 2020. Johnny’ s favorite past times were working on guns and working in his garden. He was also a die-hard Auburn fan.
He will be deeply missed by everyone who loves him.
