Mr. Richard Alan Franks, 62, died Monday, September 21, 2026, at North MS Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Lee County, born October 5, 1963 in Tupelo to Fred T. Franks and Lois Carolyn Thomason Franks. He was a graduate of Saltillo High School and continued his studies at Mississippi State University. He was patriotic and served in the U.S. Army for 4 years. Ricky resided at Lake Piomingo since 1991. He was a master mechanic and started his career as a mechanic/truck driver employed by Griffin Dodge Dealership, later as mechanic for Chevy and Dodge dealerships. He enjoyed race cars and visiting with folks. He was a very kind hearted man who would give the shirt off his back to help others and was an adventurous soul. He attended Bethel Baptist Church in Dorsey over the years.
A celebration of Life Visitation will be from 4 PM – 6 PM, Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Holland Funeral Directors, Tupelo, MS. There will be no formal service. Survivors include, 2 sons Rick Berteau (Angelena) of Houston and Kenneth “Ken” Berteau of Houlka; daughter, Shrie Corder (Zack); partner of 8 years, Laurie Smink of Saltillo; brother, Tommy Franks (Carin) of Saltillo; 3 grandchildren, Kolby Earrey, Makayla Byars, Chelle Corder, Will Corder, Aiden Corder and Haley Moore; great grandchild, Weston Caulder; a multitude of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Lois Franks; nephew Thom Franks, and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
