Rose M. Kauffman, 88, of Gadsden, Alabama passed away on Sunday September 20, 2026. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.Rose was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. She married Bob Kauffman and had six children. In 1976, the family moved to their new home in Gadsden, AL. Rose was a devoted Christian and a faithful Member of St. James Catholic Church.
Rose was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence Kauffman; her parents, Virgil and Helen Gough; their daughter, Lorraine Mims; their son, Lawrence (Larry) Kauffman Jr.; her sister, Irene Setser; also, her granddaughter Brittany Millican.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughters, Deanna Murphree, Kelley (Jeff) Summerlin, Debbie Millican; also, her son, David Kauffman; along with 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren whom all loved her very much.
Pallbearers will be Logan Moore, Justin Ott, Ryan Summerlin, Gabriel Murphree, Michael Millican and Ryder Shelton.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated members of the Whorton Bend Fire Department; the compassionate caregivers at Amedysis Hospice, and the 7th floor nurses at Riverview Hospital; for all the kindness, care and support they provided during this difficult time. Their selflessness, service, comfort, and compassion meant so much to the family.
We would also like to extend special thanks to our neighbors for their lasting friendship throughout the years.
A visitation will be held at St. James Catholic Church in Gadsden, AL on Thursday, September 24, 2026 from 11-12PM. A Mass in her honor will follow at 12PM.
