A Memorial Visitation for Verlin Dean Nichols, 79, of Decatur, AL. will be on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home. Mr. Nichols passed away at Decatur Health and Rehab on Saturday, September 19, 2026. He was born to Verlin Gay Nichols and Helen Fairchild Nichols on December 10, 1946 in Oklahoma.
Verlin served in the Army in 1966 and was stationed in Germany before going back to Oklahoma in 1968. After his time with the military, he worked as a welder at M&J Fabrication in Hartselle. He loved working on lawn mowers, fishing, sitting outside and joking around. He was always making people laugh and will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cri-Cri Tiger Nichols; his parents; brother, Melvin Nichols; and sister, Madeline Nichols.

7 Grandchildren- Dean Foster (Cassie), Mickey Nichols (Haley), Garth Enochs (Raven), Adam Enochs (Chloe), April Smith (Keith), Leah Dunavant, and Matthew Enochs
