Mrs. Patsy L. Haley was born August 7, 1937, in Cherokee, Alabama to the late Iley and Atlenia Haley of Cherokee, AL. Patsy confessed Christ at an early age at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. She moved to Memphis, Tennessee and worshiped at Columbus Baptist Church for many years. She loved her family and friends. Patsy was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin, neighbor, and an awesome friend to many that knew her. When she could she would call them any time of the day or night just to see how they were doing. She would laugh and reminisce about the good times.
Patsy was an awesome cook. She fed her family, friends and neighbors. She made sure everyone was fed. She was employed at Britling Cafeteria for many years, where she shared her love of preparing and serving delicious food until the business closed. She then continued her career in the food industry at Morrison’s Cafeteria. After dedicating 35 years to the food service industry, Patsy decided it was time for a change and began a new career at Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church. There, she faithfully served for 20 years, helping to care for and maintain the church before retiring after many years of dedicated service.
She was a devoted caretaker for her late husband Lawrence C. McCullum (LC). Patsy was a strong and determined person. Even in the mist of pain, she never complained. If you ask her, “are you in any pain,” she said no.
After being cared for by her son and daughter-in-law, on September 19, 2026, Patsy L. Haley quietly slept away and entered into eternal rest at Helen Keller Hospital, Shefield, AL. She was proceeded in death by her parents Iley and Atlenia Haley, siblings Eddie Richard Haley, Sr., Linda Cannon, James Henry Haley, Thomas (Grant) Haley, Maple Garner, Clifton E. Haley, and Patrica Patterson.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory: one son Mr. Charles Haley (Dr. Emma), Cherokee, AL, three grandchildren Mrs. Tani’a Haley-Townsend (Mr. Stephen), LaVergne, TN, Ms. Urissa Haley, Atlanta, GA, Mr. Caspian Haley, Murfreesboro, TN. Siblings Mr. Willie Haley (Mrs. Grace), Cherokee, AL, Mr. Claudelle Weakley (Rev. Cassandra) Knoxville, TN. Three Sister-in-laws, Ms. Doris Jean Irvin, Memphis, TN, Ms. Yvonne McCallum, Muncie, IN and Ms. Elsie Haley, Florence, AL. Great grandchildren, Ta’Moria Haley, LaVergne, TN, Silo Haley, Murfreesboro, TN, Emerald Townsend, LaVergne, TN, Piers Haley, Murfreesboro, TN; a very special neighbor and friend Ms. Leola Price for many years and several devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
