Jackie Lane Thomas Profile Photo Jackie Lane Thomas, age 73, passed away at his home on September 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Henderson, TN September 9, 1953, son of the late Wayne and Jessie Lee Thomas. He grew up near the Montezuma Community of Chester County. He attended Phillips School and Chester County High School graduating in 1971.

Jackie married Carolyn Ann Weaver on July 24, 1970, and they made their home in Chester County.

He worked for Brown Shoe Company for a period then worked at Southwest TN Electric for 40 years as a lineman and later as a foreman. He was an avid “Junker”, regularly going to yard sales and auctions looking for a good deal. He also visited Walmart, Lowes and Home Depot looking for clearance items.

He was a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church and served on the Cave Springs Cemetery Committee.

Jackie was a gentle giant of a man with a quiet disposition but loved conversation. He loved people and often helped those in need.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Thomas; three sons, Brian Thomas (Misty) and Brandon Thomas both of Henderson and Brock Thomas (Christan) of Asheville, NC; two brothers, Johnny Wayne Thomas (Lorena) and Jimmy Lee Thomas (Sharon) both of Henderson; seven grandchildren, Shondra Brownfield (Bray), Brett Thomas (Hailey), Briley and Brooke Thomas, Zachary Thomas (Carrie), Jackson and Sophia Thomas; and nine great grandchildren, Tynlee, Brayden and Brennan Brownfield, Lilie, Brice and Berklee Thomas, Oaklee Ann Thomas, Hazel Marie Thomas and one on the way.

Whether you called him “Big Jack” or “Papa Jack”, he was loved by all and will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday September 22, 2026, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Geary officiating.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
