Billy Joe Mayfield, age 78, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Thursday, September 17, 2026, at his residence. He was a native of Westpoint, TN, retired from Murray Ohio, self-employed brick mason, and a member of Crewstown Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Audrey Travis and Mertis Elois Garrard Mayfield; his wife, Patricia Ann “Pat” Clifton Mayfield; and three brothers, Pete Mayfield, Allen Mayfield, and Harold Mayfield.
He is survived by one son, Joey Mayfield (Mary Beth) of Summertown, TN; two daughters, Michelle King (John) of Lawrenceburg, TN and Gina Smith (Tommy) of Leoma, TN; one sister, Janice Mayfield of Lawrenceburg, TN; nine grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Sunday, September 20, 2026, with Gunner Dickson and Bill Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Houser Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family suggests memorials be made to Crewstown Church of Christ.
