Linda Sue Hughes Floyd

Sue Floyd left this world for her heavenly home on September 15, 2026. She was born on August 23, 1941. During her 85 years she lived in Decatur and Hartselle, Alabama, and Smyrna, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George & Mary Hughes, and her first husband, Kenneth Floyd. Though she was an only child, she was surrounded by cousins with whom she remained close throughout her life.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Gulley, and sons, John (Marsha) Floyd of Birmingham, Alabama, and Michael (Lori) Floyd of Nolensville, Tennessee. She had four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Sue loved spending time with her family, was a veracious reader, and an avid Creative Memories scrapbooker. She was in adult church choirs most of her life. She was a quiet lady who loved Jesus, and is now in heaven singing in God’s choir. Most of all though, she loved Christmas and making it special for her family.

The family would like to especially thank the wonderful staff at Traditions of Smyrna, Tennessee. They passionately loved her and took care of her in Memory Care for the last 18 months of her life.

The family will have a private graveside service, with Pastor Matt Nail officiating.
