Chad Michael Potter, 51, passed away on September 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on March 4, 1975, Chad will be remembered most for the size of his heart and the way he cared for the people around him. He was the kind of person who would help someone else before ever stopping to think about himself. Whether it was family, a friend, or simply someone in need, Chad was always willing to lend a hand, offer support, and give what he could.
Above all, Chad loved his family. He cherished the time they spent together and especially enjoyed traveling and making memories with those he loved. He also had a love for football and found great joy in coaching, encouraging young athletes, and being part of the game.
Chad leaves behind his loving wife, Nancy Potter; his sons, Jacob (Valerie) Kendall and Andrew Potter; and his beloved grandchildren, Benjamin and Colter. Being a husband, father, and grandfather were among the greatest and most meaningful parts of his life.
Those who knew Chad will remember his generous spirit, his big heart, and his willingness to put others before himself. His life was measured not simply by the years he was given, but by the people he loved, the lives he touched, and the memories he leaves behind.
Though his family will miss him more than words can express, the love Chad gave so freely will remain with them. His memory will live on in the stories they tell, the places they traveled, the lessons he taught, and in his children and grandchildren for generations to come.
Chad was deeply loved, and he will be deeply missed.
Memorial Service will be on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at Legacy Chapel Funeral Home and Crematory in Madison, Alabama. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM and the service will follow at 2:00 PM. Bobby Ray Holbrook will be officiating.
