Mildred Irene Oaks, 69, passed away Monday, September 14, 2026, at Red Bay Hospital, Red Bay, AL. She was born in Booneville, MS, to Arlon Clyde and Hessel Irene Lambert Barnes. She attended Calvary Baptist Church when she was able.
Funeral service will be Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, Belmont, MS with Dr. Barry Holcomb and Jacob Stanley officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, September 19, from 4–6 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church and Sunday, 2-4 at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Church of God Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Herman Oaks; one daughter, Tammy Davis (Greg); three grandchildren, Hannah Stanley (Jacob), Noah South and Megan Romero (Raul); four great-grandchildren, Maisyn and Maverick Stanley and Vanessa and Dustin Romero.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Cleston Barnes and Randall Barnes; and one sister, Betty Fay “Betina” Barnes.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Oaks, Isaiah Oaks, Corey Oaks, Mike Stamper, Todd Johnson and Michael Hindman.
