William Alexander Durward, 80, passed away Monday, September 14, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Trenton, NJ, to William and Agnes Radford Durward. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a member of Chapel Hill Church of God of Prophecy and the American Legion.

Funeral service will be Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 11 A.M. at Chapel Hill Church of God of Prophecy, Golden, MS, with Bro. Billy West and Bro. Jacob Pharr officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 6–9 P.M. at Chapel Hill Church of God of Prophecy. Burial will be in Old Bethel Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS, will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his son, Scott Durward (Angela); one daughter, Terri Martin (Todd); one grandson, Alex Durward (Sam); one granddaughter, Chasity Higginbottom (Kaleb); three great-grandchildren, Aden, Hollie, and Ava; one sister, Agnes Hensley (Penny); and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Linda Kay Owens Durward; his parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jerry and Irene Owens; two brothers-in-law, Mike Owen and Milton Hensley; and a special brother, Gary Poole.

Pallbearers will be Alex Durward, Kaleb Higginbottom, Johnny Adams, Todd Martin, Alan Rouse and Tim Woods.

Honorary pallbearers will be Aden Durward and American Legion members.
