AUBURN-The NAACP Alabama State Conference’s 2026 Annual Convention, a four-day event to be held at Auburn University beginning Thursday, October 1st.
The NAACP is the largest and oldest civil rights group in America and advocates to ensure an even playing field for human rights. These include political, educational, economic, health, worker, and social equality for all. NAACP uses political lobbying, publicity efforts, and litigation with an overall goal of building a positive, stronger, and more welcoming Alabama. NAACP’s success in these areas will improve the quality of life for all Alabamians.
With mid-term elections to be held in November, some of the confirmed presenters will include both elected officials and candidates. There will be voter engagement and training sessions. There will also be presenters from other arenas such as Labor and Industry, an oratorical contest, and several workshops.
The keynote speaker will be Jeffrey Peck, the great-grandson of Dr. W.E.B. Dubois. It was Dubois.who co-founded the NAACP in 1909, and who served for 24 years as the editor of NAACP’s Crisis Magazine.
