Parlin Edgar Hamlin, Jr., 91, of Ardmore, Tennessee passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 13, 2026, in Ardmore, Tennessee.
He was born on February 26, 1935, in Kennett, Missouri to the late Parlin Edgar Hamlin, Sr. and the late Opal Inez Avery Hamlin.
Parlin is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shelby Hamlin, as well as one brother-in-law, Joe O’Malley.
He is survived by two sons, Paul (Pat) Hamlin and Robert (Tamara) Hamlin, one daughter, Vanessa (Chris) Kanzler, two sisters, Jerris O’Malley and Pamella Tidwell, seven grandchildren: Marc (Nicole) Hamlin, Dalton Hamlin, Dason Hamlin, Densley Hamlin, Austin Kanzler, Jackson Kanzler, and Carson Kanzler, two great grandchildren, Tyler Hamlin and Benjamin Hamlin, many nieces and one nephew, as well as his companion, Faye Harris.
Parlin spent the last six years as a resident of Ardmore, Tennessee, and was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church. In his free time, he loved watching sports and was a fan of the Carolina Hurricanes as well as the St. Louis Cardinals. He loved watching his kids and grandkids play sports, he loved to travel and was known to be great dancer.
A Memorial Service will be held at Union Hill Baptist Church in Ardmore, Tennessee, on Friday, September 25, 2026, with a time yet to be determined.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
