Michael Brandon Phillips, 53, of Lexington, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026. The visitation will be on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. There will be a graveside service on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Community Cemetery with Luke Blalock officiating.
Michael is preceded in death by his father, Wayne Phillips; and maternal grandmother, Bettye Pendergrast. He is survived by his mother, Kayleen Holland-Harrison; children, Chandler Phillips and Makayla Phillips; aunt (other mother), Sheila Holland (Fudd); brothers, Charles Tingle (Melinda) and Rusty Phillips (Kristi); sisters, Debbie Elmore, Belinda Martin, and Angie Morganthall; grandchildren, Michael Phillips, Connor and LaKota Smith.
Pallbearers will be Charles Tingle, David Holland, Ben Michael, Trey Holland, Darby Davis, and Thomas Davis. The honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Phillips and Johnny Elom.
Micheal had a special affinity for all animals and found his greatest joy in the outdoors. Whether he was building beautiful rock walls, creating flower beds, or searching for arrowheads, he was happiest with nature around him and a project in his hands. The outdoors was where he felt free, a place where he could create, explore, and bring his ideas to life. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren, sharing with them the beauty of nature and the simple joys that meant so much to him. His creativity, love for the land, and gentle spirit will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
A special thank you to all the nurses and doctors at NAMC in Florence, Alabama, and Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, for the exceptional care, compassion, and support provided during this difficult time. We are forever grateful for your dedication and kindness.
