Logo Icon Raymond Fray Luna Jr. of Hickory Flat, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026, at the age of 84 surrounded by family. He will be remembered for his love and support to his family, his strength of character, his honorable service to his country, and his faith in God.

A Service of Remembrance for Ray will be at 1 PM Wednesday September 16, 2026, in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:30 AM. Full military honors will be presented, and Bro. Randy Hamilton will officiate. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Benton County.

Ray was born on January 4, 1942, to Raymond Fray Luna Sr. and Ella O’dell Luna. From an early age, he learned the values of hard work, integrity, and dedication to family.

A proud patriot, Raymond honorably served in the United States Air Force from December 10, 1963, until December 31, 1987. During his more than 24 years of military service, he exemplified commitment, courage, and discipline.

Above all else, Ray cherished his family. He is survived by his son, Robert Luna, and wife, Carolyn Luna, of San Antonio, Texas; their children, Jacob Luna of San Antonio, Texas and Megan Luna-Montez of Yorkville, Illinois. He is also survived by his son, Joseph Luna, of Hickory Flat, Mississippi, and his children, Aeryn Luna, Magdalen Luna, and Kylie Luna, of Ashland, Mississippi, as well as Logan Luna of Hickory Flat, Mississippi. He is further survived by his daughter-in-law, Angela Luna of Caledonia, Mississippi, whose unwavering support was the critical in his final years and her sons, Jarod Luna and Gabriel Luna, and Gabriel’s wife, Rebecca Luna of Caledonia, Mississippi. He had four wonderful Great grandchildren, Noah, Everhett, Aria, Astor, and Axel Luna were the light of his life, and he took great pride in watching them grow.

Ray was preceded by his sons Ransy Khail O’Casey Luna and Endy Luna, and his daughter Letitia Luna.

Those who knew Ray will remember his quiet strength, unwavering determination, and deep love for his family. Whether through his years of military service, the example he set for his children and grandchildren, or the kindness he showed others, he made a lasting impact on the lives he touched.

While his family mourns his passing, they also celebrate a life well lived. They find comfort in the memories they shared with him and in knowing that his legacy will continue through his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and future generations.

May he rest in peace, and may his life of service, dedication, and love always be remembered.
