Patricia (Elaine) Woods Kelsoe, 85, of Tuscumbia, passed away at her home on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, after an extended illness. Visitation will be Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. at New Bethel Cemetery with Gary Nantt, of First Presbyterian Church of Tuscumbia, officiating.
Elaine is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Nello Kelsoe; parents, Frances and Harlan Woods; and her sister, Janice Woods Braswell.
Elaine was born in Blount County, Alabama and attended The University of Alabama Medical Center where she received a degree in Radiological Technology. She furthered her education by receiving a certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology and was a registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
Elaine was an active member of the musical community in the Shoals Area as an organist, flutist, and pianist. She was active in the Shoals Community Band and Flutes and Friends prior to her illness. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Tuscumbia. She will be loved and missed and is survived by her children, Lori Pifer (Robert) of Tuscumbia, Greg Kelose (Barbara) of Clarksville, GA; brother, John Woods (Dale) of New York, sisters, Betsy Donnelly (John) of Atlanta, GA and Jeanie Woods of Warrior, AL; grandchildren, Anna Rose Guthrie (Joseph) of Woodstock, GA, Caroline Jones (Stacy) of Canton, GA; great – grandchildren, Amelia and Bryce Guthrie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
