MUSCLE SHOALS –  Northwest Shoals Community College (NWSCC) will host the “AI Community Caravan,” a free, beginner-friendly workshop designed to help community members explore artificial intelligence (AI) confidently, responsibly, and effectively.
The event will take place on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. in Building 103 on the NWSCC Shoals Campus.
As artificial intelligence continues to transform the way people live and work, this hands-on session aims to demystify the technology for participants of all skill levels. No prior experience with AI is required to attend.
During the workshop, participants will learn fundamental AI concepts and terminology, explore free, accessible AI tools, practice crafting effective prompts, and discover safe and responsible ways to integrate AI into everyday life and work.
“Artificial intelligence is changing many ways we go about our daily lives,” said Dr. Shelby Luna, Director of Distance Education and Information Systems. “This beginner workshop offers anyone in our community an opportunity to better understand AI and gain practical, everyday skills.”
The workshop is hosted jointly by the NWSCC Distance Education and Workforce Development departments. While the event is free and open to the public, attendees are encouraged to reserve their spot in advance.
