Jerrilyn Sue (Jobe) Eddy, 73, left her earthly home on September 8th, 2026. Sue touched many lives with her joyful spirit, wonderful sense of humor, and deep love for family—especially her grandsons.
She was born March 3, 1953. Sue graduated from Central High School in 1971. She later earned her associate’s degree in nursing and went on to serve as a Registered Nurse for 40 plus years in Alabama and Tennessee. Throughout her career, she worked compassionately in many areas of healthcare, making a lasting difference in the lives of the many thousands of patients she served.
She was a spiritual Christian who strove each day to live with kindness and compassion. Sue cherished her pets and took great delight in them, especially the many strays she lovingly cared for over the years. In her free time, she loved gardening, attending concerts, and listening to music. She was an avid sports fan, especially the Braves and Alabama football. She spent countless hours supporting her children and grandchildren at their sporting events over the years. She also found joy in nature and embraced every opportunity to laugh and smile.
She was preceded in death by her cherished son, Austin Nichols, and her parents, Marjorie and Jerry Jobe.
She leaves behind her daughter, Brandy (Chris) Churchwell, and grandsons, Kellyn and Sam. Daughter by marriage, Christie (Adam) Kuropatwa, and their daughters, Lorelei and Estoria. Her sister, Angeline Gail (Don) Johnson, and nephews, Jeremy (Megan) and Justin Johnson, along with many beloved friends and family members.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate team at Compassus Hospice—including their dedicated nurses, aides, and chaplain—as well as the precious independent caregivers, whose kindness and attentive care brought comfort and dignity during a difficult time.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life at her home (1685 County Road 7, Florence, Alabama) on September 12th, 2026, at 2pm. Prior to the celebration, the family will gather for a quiet, guided moment of prayer at 1pm by her graveside at Tri-Cities Memorial Cemetery, offered by a family friend and retired minister
