In accordance with her wishes, Susan will be cremated, and no services are scheduled at this time.

Born April 26, 1967, in Jackson, Mississippi, Susan was the daughter of the late Ozane Medlin and Vivian Richardson Medlin. She was a graduate of Blue Mountain High School and continued her education at Northeast Mississippi Community College, where she earned her nursing degree and became a registered nurse. For many years, Susan worked at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Ripley before her retirement.

A lifelong resident of Blue Mountain, Susan was a familiar face throughout the community. She was often on the go, and one never knew where her travels might take her. Susan also had a heart for animals and frequently opened her home to strays in need of food, shelter, and care.

While Susan will be missed, those who knew her may now find comfort in believing that she has been released from the troubles and pain of this earthly life and has finally found rest.

Those left to remember Susan include her daughter, Amy Goodman and her husband, Max; her son, Zach Smith and his wife, Jess; one brother, Tim Medlin; five grandchildren, Anna Claire Windham and her husband, Ryan, Ella Barton, Cooper Goodman, Carter Barton, and Stella Smith; and two great-grandchildren, Ivy Jane and Rowan Windham, along with extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Ripley Funeral Home invites you to share memories with Susan’s family.
