Graveside service for Barbara Seagroves Gray, age 84, of Fayetteville, TN will be held at 1pm on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Prospect Cemetery with Bro. Kevin Davis officiating. There will be no visitation with the family prior to the service.
Born on July 19, 1942, in Fayetteville, to the late Virgil and Rachel Agent Seagroves, Barbara graduated from Central High School in 1961 and remained a dedicated member of Prospect Baptist Church throughout her life. A familiar and warm presence in her community, she touched many lives through her diverse work over the years at Walmart, the Skating Rink, Lawsons, Howard Bently, and as a teacher’s aide at Highland Rim School. Beyond her career, she gave her time as a cub scout assistant for her sons and cherished every moment spent as a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. Barbara passed away at her home on September 7, 2026.
Survivors include her sons, Kyle Gray and wife Trisha of Edmond, OK, Darrell Gray and wife Sherri, and Thad Gray and wife Melissa, all of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Allison Killian, Colton (Journey) Gray, Karsen Gray, Anna (Hunter) Watson; great-grandchildren, John Reid Watson, Everett Gray Watson, and Philomena Jane Gray who is due soon; and a sister, Cheryl Lee. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Lanier Gray, and a sister, Patsy Nafe.
