JP Bowling, age 91, of Muscle Shoals, passed away on September 6, 2026. The visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Morrison Funeral Home in Tuscumbia. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Sam Wallace officiating the service. The burial will be at Hatton Baptist Cemetery in Leighton.
JP was an ironworker with the Ironworker Local 477. He was a faithful and founding member of East Colbert Baptist Church. He was faithful to his family, church, and community.
He is survived by his children, Sallie Muston (Johnny), Darin Bowling (Gwyn); grandchildren, Kimberly Bowling, Matthew Bowling, Gabriel Bowling; great-grandchildren, Isabella Graves, Owen Bowling, Benson Bowling, Cullen Bowling; and several nieces & nephews that he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Bowling; mother, Sallie Bowling; siblings, Polly Chaney, Geneva Carpenter, Bobby Bowling; and granddaughter, Stephanie Muston-Graves.
The pallbearers will be Johnny Muston, Matthew Bowling, Gabe Bowling, Jacob Richardson, Roy Burcham, and Sam Scruggs.
