Governor Ivey Sets Execution Date For Convicted Murder Of Elderly Gadsden Couple

MONTGOMERY-Governor Kay Ivey on Monday announced she has set the time frame for the execution of Michael Taylor to occur beginning 12:00 a.m. on

Thursday, November 5, 2026, and expiring Friday, November 6, 2026. The execution will be carried out by lethal injection.  Governor Ivey stated the execution is scheduled to take place within a 30-hour time frame beginning Nov. 5 at midnight to Nov. 6 at 6 a.m.

 

Michael Shannon Taylor, : Taylor, now 54, was convicted  of capital murder for the brutal 1991 beating deaths of an elderly Gadsden couple, Ivan and Lucille Moore, during a robbery. He was 19 years old and AWOL from the Navy at the time of the crime.
