Connie Faye Higgins, 79, of Athens, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at her residence. She was born on February 19, 1947, in Limestone County to Nolan Penley and Faye Thornton Penley. She worked at Intergraph for 19 years.
Mrs. Higgins is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, L.R. Higgins, two brothers, Don and Ricky Penley.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Kieff (David), Lisa Maplesden; four grandchildren, Morgan Greene (Sean), Nick Maplesden, Mallory Kieff, Josh Maplesden (Atlee); two great grandchildren, Avery Kieff and Vivian Greene.
There will be a graveside service on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 3 p.m. at Athens City Cemetery with Larry Harmon officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1 – 2:45 p.m.
Pallbearers will be David Kieff, Steve Phillips, Johnny Maplesden, Sean Greene, Danny Kieff, and Dwight Grizzard.
