Ronald Jerry Wade, age 74, of Scottsboro, AL passed away on August 24, 2026.
Mr. Wade is preceded in death by his parents, Junior and Verna Mae Wade; his sister, Rachel Hill; and his parents-in-law Berlin and Marcine Baugh.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lynn Wade; his daughter, Sheri Rouse; his son, Chris (Holly) Wade; his granddaughter, Kalyn (Bradley) Rouse-Johnson; his grandsons, Laken and Landon Wade; his brother, Donny (Brenda) Wade; his sister-in-law, Patricia (Gary) Edwards; his brother-in-law, Scotty Baugh; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jerry has always had a love for the outdoors and adventure.
As a child, he would traipse around the woods behind his home for hours. Jerry loved to hunt, but as he got older, he enjoyed simply looking for any and all wildlife. He raised beagles with his family and shared that love of dogs with his children.
Jerry instilled his love of fishing in his children and grandchildren, making sure to bait their hooks for them. He was an avid Braves fan. He enjoyed watching his grandsons play sports. He loved woodworking and built beautifully handcrafted gifts for his family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in the Hytop Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at Scottsboro Funeral Home beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will lie in state prior to funeral service on Thursday, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Laken Wade, Landon Wade, Bradley Johnson, Cole Wade, Cameron Hill, Cody Hill, and Jeff Owens.
