James A. Williams, age 78, of Belfast, Tennessee, passed away Friday, August 7, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born May 12, 1948, in Marshall County, Tennessee, to the late James and Mary Frances Hill Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy L. Sharp Williams; grandson, James A. Williams IV; siblings, Mary Ann Hargrove, Eva Kay Gevedon, Janice Marie Collins, and Charlie Ray Williams.
He is survived by his son, James Andy Williams, III (Tabitha) of Petersburg and granddaughter, Jenness A. Williams.
He was self-employed as a carpenter and was well-known for his craftsmanship. He enjoyed working on his farm, reading, hunting, fishing, and tinkering with anything that needed fixing. He was a member of Farmington United Methodist Church and a life-long resident of the Farmington/Belfast community.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests that donations in his memory be made to the Marshall County Memorial Library.
Graveside Service will be conducted on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Lone Oak Cemetery with Sam Wright officiating and burial to follow. Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Gevedon, James Andy Williams III, Sam Wright, and Roger Wright.
