Gary Austin Grogan, age 78, of Culleoka, Tennessee, passed away peacefully Friday, August 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at St. Thomas West Hospital.

Gary was born October 17, 1947, in Cookeville, Tennessee, to the late Austin Peay and Emma Ruth Phillips Grogan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son, Grant Grogan and a sister, Brenda Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gloria Watson Grogan; son, Greg (Natalie) Grogan of Lewisburg; sister, Kimberly Grogan (Wayne Patton) of Lewisburg; his canine companion, Mo; sister in law, Phyllis (Roy) Huey of Lewisburg; numerous nieces and nephews.

Gary was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time fishing with his sons and best friends, Larry and Randy. He loved reloading ammunition and shooting his trusty .270 rifle. He loved following NASCAR and was a lifelong fan of Bobby Allison and Dale Earnhardt. He dearly loved his wife of 59 years, Gloria, and his two boys, Greg and Grant. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

The family requests that those attending dress in casual attire. Fishermen are encouraged to wear their fishing gear in his memory.

Visitation with the family will be held at London Funeral Home and Crematory, 324 W. Church Street, Lewisburg, TN, on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.

Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 2:00 pm at London Funeral Home and Crematory with Rob Huey officiating. Burial will follow in Bryant Cemetery with Randy Foster, Wayne Patton, Roy Huey, Joey Brandon, Nathan Brandon, and Donnie Moses serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in his memory.
