Marion Hughes Yokley

August 12, 1953 – August 3, 2026

Marion Beth Hughes Yokley, 72, of Leoma Tennessee passed away on August 3, 2026, at Maury Regional Medial Center with family at her side.

She was born August 12, 1953 to D.T. “Bug” Hughes and Jo Prosser Hughes in Lawrenceburg. Marion enjoyed her years working at Ledbetter’s and talking politics with the coffee drinker. She retired as a secretary from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, leaving the trooper’s hats safe from the decorations she liked to add to them.

Marion married Phil Yokley on July 1, 1979 and they went on to have one daughter, Jessica. She enjoyed being with her family and living out her life on her ancestor’s homeplace, the old Prosser farm, where every stray animal found a home.

Marion was a Christian, of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed antiquing at Goodwill and auctions, spoiling her animals, and picking at everyone she came in contact with.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Nathan and Rod Hughes, and her granddaughter, Cora Elizabeth Yokley-Owens.

She is survived by her husband Phil Yokley; one daughter Jessica Yokley; two grandsons, Gavin Mayfield and Preston Yokley-Owens; her son-in-law who she considered her son Kevin Owens; sisters-in-law, Kay Parker and Brigitte Massey; her cat, Kitty Poo-Poo; several nieces; nephews; and extended family.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Neal Funeral Home. A memorial service will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 6, 2026, with Bobby Gobble officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be made to A Cora Christmas (https://givebutter.com/in-memory-of-marion-yokley).
