Rebecca “Becky” Olivia Meadows, passed away peacefully at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo, Mississippi, on August 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Her family rejoices in knowing that she is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, whom she faithfully served throughout her life.
Rebecca was born on January 22, 1952, in Tupelo, Mississippi, to the late Joseph Daniel “J.D.” Wilson and Mildred Wilson. She was raised in Fulton, Mississippi, where she was the oldest of four children. She graduated from Itawamba Agricultural High School in 1970 and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a major in Special Education from Mississippi State University in 1974.
She devoted 27½ years to educating children in the public school systems of Vicksburg and Magee, Mississippi. Following her retirement from teaching, Becky worked in the jewelry department at JCPenney in Tupelo before joining Dodge’s Oil Company, where she faithfully served as receptionist for ten years. She loved her Dodge’s family and took great pride in welcoming everyone who entered the home office. She especially enjoyed the annual Elvis Week celebration, greeting visitors from around the world who came to honor Elvis Presley’s birthplace. Rebecca never met a stranger and had a special gift for making everyone feel welcomed and appreciated.
A talented seamstress, Rebecca lovingly created handmade gifts that will be treasured for generations. She was also an outstanding cook whose chicken pot pie, chicken and dumplings, carrot cake, cream cheese pound cake, and coconut pie became cherished family favorites. She found great joy in giving to others, often surprising family and friends with thoughtful gifts and little “happies” to brighten their day. Christmas was especially dear to her, and she delighted in making the season memorable for those she loved.
Rebecca’s greatest joy was her faith in Jesus Christ. She was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church in Fulton, where she loved her church family, especially her Sunday School class. She faithfully served on the hospitality committee and enjoyed Wednesday morning Bible study and every opportunity for fellowship with fellow believers.
Rebecca deeply loved her family and treasured being known as “Mimi” to her precious grandchildren. She cherished every trip, celebration, and moment spent with them. A gracious Southern hostess, she loved opening her home for holidays, family gatherings, celebrations with friends, and meals shared with neighbors.
Rebecca also loved music, especially Southern gospel, Dolly Parton, and Elvis Presley. One of her favorite memories was attending Dolly Parton’s concert in Philadelphia, Mississippi, where she joyfully sang every word alongside her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Mildred Wilson of Brandon, Mississippi; her daughter, Amanda Griffith and husband, Clay, of Oakland, Tennessee; her sister, Jennifer Wilson Hall of Brandon, Mississippi; her brothers, Douglas Wilson and his wife, Wanda, of Jacksonville, Texas, and Danny Wilson and wife, Susan, of Pontotoc, Mississippi; her grandchildren, Olivia Griffith, Michaela Griffith, Lexi Wren, and Dakota Wren; her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Weatherford Peck; her nephews, Jonathan Wilson and Nathan Hanson; her niece, Allison Hanson; her great-nieces and great-nephews; and her special friend, Phillip Harbor.
She was preceded in death by her son, Joshua Weatherford; her father, Joseph Daniel “J.D.” Wilson; and her husbands, John Weatherford and Eugene Meadows.
Serving as pallbearers are Bill Gary, Johnny Lesley, Jerry Maxey, Jerry Senter, Anthony Thompson, and Jimmy Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers are James Billingsley, Bobby Dodge, Henry Dodge, Park Dodge, Tom Faust, and Nat Leathers.
Funeral services will be held at the McNeece- Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 11:00 am, with Bro. Douglas Wilson officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 4, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., and on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church.

Though she will be greatly missed, Rebecca’s legacy of faith, kindness, generosity, and hospitality will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.
