Olin Darrel Guffey, age 80 of the Fischer community, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026. He was born on March 31, 1946 to the late Gordon & Mary Singleton Guffey in DeKalb County. He retired from TVA as a Civil Engineer Associate. He was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at Union Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Scott officiating. He will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He is survived by his daughter, Cassandra Guffey; brothers, Richard Guffey and Ralph Guffey; grandchildren, Sierra Abbarno, Eric Pope and Lateisha Lukens; and 4 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Barnard Guffey, Alfred Guffey and Harvin Guffey; and sisters, Evelyn Eckert and Eleanor Baker.
