Joel Montgomery Marion Joel Montgomery, affectionately known as Joel, passed away on August 1, 2026, at Magnolia Regional Hospital in Corinth, Mississippi, at the age of 65. Born on November 8, 1960, in Pontotoc, Mississippi, Joel spent many years as a dedicated truck driver. When not on the road, he enjoyed working on and driving his cherished 1948 Chevy Street Rod. Joel had a deep love for animals and was especially proud to be known as “Big Daddy” to his many grandchildren.

Joel is survived by his beloved family: CeeCee Little (Lance), Kisha Montgomery, Keith (Anna) Garner, Kristan (John) Walker, Laken Long, Alex Long, Ansley Smith, Eli Smith, Greg Smith, Jackson Garner, Madison Garner, Gabe Montgomery, Jackie Montgomery, Mike (Shirley) Montgomery, Tony Montgomery, Nancy Montgomery, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow “Red” Montgomery and Mary Frank Montgomery; brothers, Craig Montgomery and Clyde Montgomery; special aunt and uncle, Barney and Lavelle Montgomery; and Doug Long.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 5:00 p.m. Joel will be laid to rest at Pontotoc Memorial Garden. The service will be officiated by Bro. Steven Newell. Pallbearers include Keith Garner, Chris Hutcheson, Christopher Hutcheson, John Walker, Alex Long, and Greg Smith, with honorary pallbearers Jackson Garner and Eli Smith.
