Ricky (Rick) Lynn Robinson, 69, of Athens, Alabama, passed away surrounded by loved ones Wednesday, July 29th, 2026 at Athens Limestone Hospital. Mr. Robinson was born April 10th, 1957 to Jim and Minnie Ruth Robinson.
Ricky graduated from Elkmont High School in 1975, and went on to earn both a Bachelor of Science in Administration and Accounting from Athens State College. He later retired from Delphi/Saginaw in Decatur, Alabama, where he was known for his dedication, reliability, and steady presence.
Ricky is survived by his loving spouse, Fred Harrington; siblings, Jimmy, Carolyn, and Donnie Robinson; and a host of nieces and nephews he adored.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Rachel King, Dean Bailey, and Paul Robinson.
Ricky was a devoted partner and uncle who cherished every moment spent with his family. His love for his family was unwavering, and his nieces and nephews will forever remember him not only as their uncle, but as a trusted friend, role model, and a constant source of love and support. His presence in their lives was a gift that will continue to live on through the stories, laughter, and memories they share.
Ricky approached life with joy, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the world around him. He loved traveling with friends and family, finding beauty in new places and meaning in every experience. His adventures gave him countless stories to share and memories he treasured throughout his life.
After retirement, Ricky discovered a new creative outlet in painting. What he saw in the world- color, light, and quiet moments of beauty- found its way onto his canvases. Painting became another way for him to express his creativity and to leave a piece of himself in every brushstroke.
Whether he was exploring a new destination, standing before a blank canvas, or spending time with the people he loved most, Rick lived with a spirit of curiosity, creativity, and genuine gratitude for life. His warmth, his stories, and his art remain lasting reflections of the joy he carried with him.
In keeping with the generous and giving spirit that defined him, his final act of love was to donate his organs, allowing the gift of his life to continue through others. Even in his passing, he found a way to give hope, healing, and a second chance to those he would never have the opportunity to meet. It is a final testament to the kind of man he was, selfless, compassionate, and always willing to give.
Visitation will be at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home Saturday, August 1st, 2026 from 12pm until 1:45pm. Services will follow in the chapel at 2pm. Burial will take place at Roselawn Cemetery in Athens, Alabama.
Pallbearers will be Brent Hobbs, Alex Girodo, Kendall Bailey, Jared Bailey, Jeremy Bailey, and Johnny Lee.
In honor of the joy he brought to those around him, his family asks that those attending his funeral fill the room with the colors he loved and the brightness that reflected the life he held.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
